Shelly and Rodney

Last week Shelly and Rodney flew into Colorado from Missouri to finalize their wedding plans for Jan. 28, 2007 at The Chapel at Red Rocks in Morrison Colorado. They met with me Friday morning and booked me on Sunday. Monday we did a lifestyle photo session starting at the chapel.
From there we drove up into the hills and found a great spot to hike around. Shelly and Rodney seemed to enjoy the break from wedding planning and showed their love for each holding each other tight when we stopped. They are a perfect couple to photograph as they would quickly forget all about me and get into their own little world. If you would like to see a slideshow. CLICK HERE: Shelly and Rodney

Veterans Day

Saturday, November 11 is Veterans Day, and I would like to introduce you to my neighbor Walter, who is a World War II veteran. For the last two years Walter has joined other veterans at his grandson's grade school in Summit County, to talk about his military service. Walter served as a medic in England where up to 100 injured soldiers were flown in from France on a daily basis. I caught up with Walter this week to make a few portraits in his uniform and with his golden retriever, Daisy.

Jen and Troy

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Troy Foss and Jen Harper at the world famous Hotel del Coronado near San Diego, California. I've known Troy's family previous to his birth in Aspen. Hanging out with Troy and his buddies, and playing in the ocean the morning before the wedding, was a great way to get the party started. Their intimate ceremony was staged in the Garden Patio which was decorated with beautiful, multi-colored rose topiaries and fuschia flower petals lining the walkway. After the ceremony we strolled through the hotel and onto the beach for late afternoon and sunset photos. The candlelight reception in the Crown Room was kicked-off with the couples' first dance to the song "Someone Like You" by Van Morrison.
After a five-star dinner, toasts were made, the brides' bouquet and the garter were tossed, wine, champagne, beer and cocktails were served, the cake was cut, and the dance party got serious to tunes from the band, The Heroes.
The next morning Troy's mom, Jane, and her lady friends threw flower petals as the limo drove by taking the couple to the airport for their honeymoon in Tahiti!
I would like to thank both sets of parents for inviting me to participate in this amazing wedding celebration - Joe and Penny Harper, and Kim and Jane Foss.
Wedding coordinator, Trena Lozano of Trena's Special Occasion put together a truly memorable event.
